ANEC Submission to the All-Party Parliamentary Inquiry into Hunger and Food Poverty

03 July 2014

The ANEC submission brought the Inquiry’s attention to the key piece of research that was commissioned through the Institute of Local Governance (ILG) on behalf of member councils which examined the impacts of the welfare reforms in the North East. Amongst a number of issues identified through the research were the early indications of charity dependency amongst citizens becoming more prominent, with the growing number of food banks being a particularly notable feature. The report also features a case study on the growth in food banks which was highlighted in the submission.

A link to a copy of the submission is shown below along with links to further information including the full ILG report.
